On every website I’ve had since starting my very first Blog, LIsa Corduff: In the Kitchen, there has been a TV button.
I have created a LOT since I launched that first blog in 2013. I’ve run food eCourses, started two podcasts and a membership site, created a new program to help women reconnect to themselves after years of tending to everyone else, and started a business Mastermind with my best friend Karly Nimmo.
But the one thing I haven’t done – the one thing I have been burning to do for the past three years – is to start my own TV Show.
I have a real passion for TV and all things video. I love the intimacy and connections it creates, and I adore learning from experts and sharing that knowledge with you. I love to dig deep and investigate new ways of approaching things, and to distil it down so that it’s easy to take in. (I know how much else is competing for your bandwidth… I have three young kids!)
I also have a background in TV production, and in 2007 I created my own award-winning TV show about sustainable living.
So why has it taken me so long to get SmallStepsTV off the ground?
Well, there’s resistance when we start anything new – isn’t there? I bet you’ve felt it when there’s something BIG calling your name and all you can think of is the reasons why it can’t happen, or you’ll fail if you try. Yep, I work through those feelings too.
But there is a more practical reason that has been stopping me from taking action. I simply didn’t know what format I wanted Small Steps TV to take! I had about a million ideas, and there were so many different ways I could approach it.
Then the other day, a chance comment of my FB page created a lightbulb moment. Kristy casually commented on how nice it would be to catch up with me for a coffee. And in that moment, the idea for how I would bring Small Steps TV to life was born.
We’re talking relaxed, informal shows. Coffee and a chat about the things you’re dealing with right now. Small Steps I’m taking in my life, and ideas for small steps you could try. I’ll be bringing in awesome people who are doing awesome things, and experts who can give us fresh perspectives.
Basically, the conversations I would have with a good friend over coffee. With experts who really know their stuff, and people who are pioneering cool new approaches, thrown into the mix.
I am a huge believer in taking imperfect action – and I walk the talk. So, in this first episode, you’ll see my washing hanging in the background (one viewer even commented on how distracting my lack of pegs was!)
I knew the setting wasn’t perfect. I went ahead and did it anyway. I needed to make a start, put a stake in the ground, and gain some momentum. And the best part is I get to find out what YOU want to talk about and learn about sooner, at a point in time when I’m still developing the format.
But also, please know that I am super busy behind the scenes, pulling together all.the.ideas and a team to bring you Small Steps TV. To say I’m excited is an understatement!
I want you to know, there is no level of production that will stop me from keeping it real. That is in my DNA. I will still be having the messy conversations, and I’ll be giving you an insight into my own life – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Because when we are honest, and when we share with each other from the heart, something magical happens. We stop comparing ourselves with other women quite so much. We start to recognise that we all have superpowers AND we all have vulnerabilities. We start to support each other, and we start to judge ourselves less harshly.
That is why honesty is one of my core values, and why I am absolutely committed to sharing the real stuff with you. (You may just have to imagine the washing hanging on the line, without the pegs! In all likelihood it will be there, just out of shot.)
In this first ever episode you’ll find out more about the topics I’m planning to cover in the coming weeks, and my vision for Small Steps TV. So go ahead and get yourself a coffee or tea, and come and join me for a chat!

I hope you enjoyed the first episode of Small Steps TV, and I would love to hear from you. What’s the one topic you would most like me to talk about on Small Steps TV in 2018? Who would your dream guest be? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll see you next time.
With much love,
