On Wednesday night Nat Kringoudis and I finished our women’s health series with a BANG! We talked all things cravings.
Why we eat the things we do, when we do.
Why we can know that certain things don’t serve us well, but we eat it anyway.
You KNOW what I’m talking about!
So when we hit up chocolate and the fact that some of us just cannot control ourselves before our period Nat mentioned that our body’s are looking for more magnesium at that time. Hmmmm magnesium.
A few women in the chat box said that since using magnesium supplements or spray, their chocolate cravings had literally disappeared.
I love chocolate. Life without it would make me very sad. But to think that something else (my awesome intricate and clever body) is driving the need for it was a big ‘a-ha moment’!
It’s pretty much the guts of everything that Nat said – there is a reason for why our bodies are doing what they are doing. There is a reason for the ache, there’s a reason for the infertility, there’s a reason for the spots, there’s a reason for it all!
We just need to dig a little.
So I’ve decided to experiment a little with magnesium. Seems it’s a super important element to a healthy body. If you want more info on magnesium check this out.
So it seems foods high in magnesium are:
- Boiled spinach
- Pumpkin seeds
You can also buy magnesium in spray form and supplements.
As always, I start with food! Will be interesting to see how this goes….
Tell me – do you crave chocolate? Have you thought about increasing your magnesium?
