Oh butter – where for art thou my whole life!?
I’ll admit, as a kid I didn’t like the taste of butter. But that’s probably because I was brought up on margarine and my taste buds didn’t know any better. NOT SO ANY MORE!
Moving from margarine to butter would have to be one of the best things you can do for your health. Oh man… the verdict on margarine is SO IN. What were we ever thinking eating that stuff!?
If you have it in your fridge right now, then go and get rid of it!
Here’s why butter is better:
Look, I cannot put it better than Jessie at Get a Fresh Start. Go and read this article and come back and try to tell me that margarine is still a better option!!
Here’s where I found it:
The thing about butter is that you want the quality stuff – from cows who’ve been able to chew on grass – not grain (grain is not what cows are used to eating and the fact that they are these days is causing all kinds of issues!). The most cost effective butter from grass-fed cows that I’ve found in Australia is Westgold – which is actually a NZ brand. You can buy it at Woolies.
Here’s how I use it:
Ummm … on what do I not use it!? I bake with it, use it as a spread, cook with it as it’s quite a stable fat, I add it to porridge, I cook eggs in it, add it to the top of a steak. You get the drift – I am very partial to butter.
